| U.S. HEALTHCARE SYSTEM: #1 CAUSE OF
DEATH |
 |
Thousands of medical reports have been examined, the
numbers have been tallied, and the conclusion is sobering: the
American medical system is the leading cause of death and
injury in the United States. The medical profession and the
media have always claimed that the leading causes of death,
for both men and women, are heart disease and cancer. Records
show us that in 2001 cancer claimed 553,251 lives, with heart
disease in the lead with 699,697 attributed deaths. But when
medical reports were more closely examined, analysts found
that 783,936 deaths, in a single year, were directly related
to medical care misdiagnosis and carelessness.
Never before has a complete overview of the medical field
been examined where medicine related deaths have been combined
and totaled. Here are some of the horrific results derived
from a one-year period: Adverse Drug Reactions: 106,000 people
dead with $12 billion in expenses. Medical errors: 98,000 dead
with $2 billion in expenses. Bedsores leading to other
complications: 115,000 dead with $55 billion in expenses.
Hospital acquired infections: 88,000 dead with $5 billion in
expenses. Outpatient mishaps: 199,000 people dead with $77
billion in expenses. Unnecessary Procedures: 37,136 people
dead with$122 billion in expenses. Surgery-Related
complications: 32,000 people dead with $9 billion in expenses.
What our healthcare system doesn't tell us is that the
human body is a powerful entity, designed to heal itself
during times of illness or disorder. The spine plays a very
important role in this process. If spinal vertebrae are
misaligned, malfunctions and health disorders can arise.
That's why it's so important to receive regular chiropractic
adjustments.
More importantly, chiropractic adjustments are safe and
involve no medicine or radical invasive procedures. In fact,
it's one of the safest and healthiest forms of care available.
If you are dealing with a health problem, or are just feeling
'under the weather', consider chiropractic care before you put
your life in the hands of the number one killer in America.

| Trans Fats are Dangerous Enough to Earn Place on
Food Labels |
 |
Trans fats (also known as trans fatty acids) have
gotten a bad name - and deservedly so. Trans fats are
comparable to saturated fats in terms of heart-disease risk;
they increase blood cholesterol levels in a manner similar to
that of saturated fats.
Government agencies say we have a right to know if we're
consuming trans fats. So according to a new law, food
manufacturers are required to list foods' trans fat grams by
January 2006. (You may notice some labels that already itemize
trans fats, but you can bet those foods contain little if
any.)
For the time being, then, you won't know the amount of
trans fats in many foods. There is one trick, however, that
can help you identify trans fats: Read the ingredients list.
If the terms "hydrogenated" or "partially hydrogenated" appear
near the top of the list, the food is probably high in trans
fats.
Foods that usually contain high levels of trans fats:
Pastries and cakes, French fries (unless fried in lard /
dripping), Doughnuts, Cookies, Biscuits, Chocolate, Margerine,
Shortening, Fried chicken, Crackers and Potato chips.

| Phase Two Subluxation Degeneration |
 |
| Phase two subluxation degeneration is normally seen in
subluxations that have been present between 20 and 40 years.
This phase has some of the same characteristics of the
previous phase including a loss of normal curvature and
position as well as an alteration in segmental motion.
In addition, spines with Phase Two Subluxation Degeneration
many times show a reduction in the patient's range of motion
in that area. X-rays of a phase two begin to show calcium
changes or buildup at certain levels of the spine. These
changes are sometimes called by many names including spurs and
arthritis. Disc spaces between the affected vertebrae are
noticeably narrower and may appear to be flattening out.
Although most people with Phase Two Subluxation
Degeneration may not exhibit any symptoms, some may start to
feel stiff or achy. Chiropractic reconstructive care for
patients in phase two ranges from 1.5 years to 2.5 years.
Again, if Phase Two Subluxation Degeneration is left
uncorrected it slowly advances to the next phase. CALL YOUR
