Supplementation
The foods we eat today are quite different from the foods our grandparents ate.
It’s true that technology and the widespread use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides have improved the productivity of today’s farms. But it has done so at the expense of reducing the vitality and nutritional content of the food we eat.
Most of us, even if we’re careful about what we eat, just aren’t getting the complete nutrition we need. That’s why it’s crucial we augment our diets with high-quality supplementation.
Three areas should be considered:
• Vitamins - An organic molecule absorbed through the intestinal tract, which in trace amounts, are essential for optimum health. For example, Vitamin A, C and E.
• Minerals - Dietary minerals are elemental building blocks necessary for optimum health. Deficiencies are often the result of foods that are grown in mineral depleted soil.
• Essential Fatty Acids - The body cannot synthesize these fats. If our diet is deficient in the food sources of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, then supplementation is important.
