Houston Massage Therapist :: Mary Regan
Mary Regan, NCTMB, Licensed Massage Therapist
Mary has been practicing massage therapy for 13 years, since graduating top of her class from an outstanding clinical massage therapy program at Ann Arbor Institute of Massage Therapy in Michigan. She is driven to continually expand her knowledge and skills to achieve ever greater results.
Mary’s perspective is informed by her life. She comes from a large, boisterous family and is married with a grown daughter. She enjoys playing the piano, Argentine Tango, cooking, reading, and yoga. Previously, she worked with individuals with developmental disabilities for 28 years, starting as a live-in house parent and working her way up to director. In that role, she served 350 individuals and supervised 450 staff in a wonderful non-profit focused on building interdependence, meaningful relationships, and loving communities. She is accustomed to helping people overcome obstacles. She believes there’s no reason to settle, life is good, let’s live it to the fullest!
She also appreciates the opportunity massage therapy offers to connect with others and views your work together as a partnership. A cooperative effort is needed to achieve the best results. She does her utmost to reduce pain and limitations to restore function and wellbeing, so you have a better platform from which to build. Mary recognizes however, that what you do every day will trump what she does periodically, so it can take changing the patterns on your end that may contribute to the issue, and/or follow through in doing specific exercises to create long lasting improvement. She will happily provide tools and recommendations to support your efforts to change any contributing factors and integrate/maintain results.
Her Training/Education Includes:
- Medical Massage (a strategic application of the following techniques for complex/severe issues: Lymph Drainage, Segment-Reflex, Connective Tissue, Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular, Trigger Point, Cyriax’s Procedure, Muscle Energy [therapeutic stretching] Techniques, & Periosteal massage).
