Stop Suffering With Sciatica—Get Rid of the Pain Now

woman on fancy couch with back painSciatica is that pain in your hip and glutes, running down your leg, and even into your foot, that never seems to go away and, like a toothache, you can’t just seem to locate the spot for relief. It doesn’t seem to matter what you do—stretches, injections, heat, cold, and even surgery. In some cases, the pain is so severe it affects walking and even daily activities. Patients often feel like there’s nothing left to try.

A Personal Journey

Dr. Jackie knows firsthand how difficult sciatica is to get rid of. When she was 15 years old, she developed shooting pains down her leg, which medical doctors attributed to growing pains when they didn’t find anything else.

A few years later, Dr. Jackie started working for a chiropractor and was able to receive regular adjustments. After helping with patients during the day, she would get adjusted before she left the clinic. She would go home crying from the pain, but feel better in the morning. Chiropractic helped her, just not enough.

After many years, Dr. Jackie found NetworkSpinal Analysis, which finally ended the pattern of subluxation in her body.

What Causes Sciatica?

Any pain that originates from the sciatic nerve is known as sciatica. The sciatic nerve is the largest nerve in the body, originating from the lower back, passing through the buttocks, and running all the way down the leg into the foot. It connects the spinal cord to the skin and muscles of the leg and foot.

Sciatic pain starts in the lower back, sacrum, or glutes, and is typically felt on the back or side of the leg, radiating continuously downward to the foot. Correcting the subluxation in the pelvis may provide temporary relief, but the pattern must be corrected to prevent a recurrence. NetworkSpinal Analysis works from the inside out to relieve the stress on the nervous system, allowing Dr. Jackie to work on changing the pattern to prevent further irritation or inflammation of the nerve.

It’s a Team Effort

Our team is dedicated to educating our patients about their bodies, so they see themselves as active participants in their health and healing, instead of just needing to be fixed.

Dr. Jackie also provides relief from sciatica with specific stretching exercises. Piriformis syndrome occurs when the piriformis muscle, located in the buttock region, begins to spasm, irritating the nearby sciatic nerve, causing pain, numbness, and tingling. Some people are unfortunately born with their sciatic nerve passing through the piriformis, increasing the chance of sciatica.

Our chiropractor has a series of stretches that help eliminate piriformis syndrome and also relieve your sciatica. There’s even one that Dr. Jackie calls “the magic stretch.” She also gives patients glute and hamstring stretches to do at home to help with the process. The time frame to see improvement may vary from one visit to three months, but patients usually get some relief within one month.
